Modern wall art is at your beck and call! Check out the many pieces of artwork you can use, like abstract wall art, which is excellent for bringing color and imagination to your walls. Or, explore wall statues and quilts. Go art deco and put up a print of Marilyn Monroe, or if you need more lighting, consider putting up some decorative wall sconces.

By starting with the walls, you can set the mood and basic style for the rest of the room. Choose to paint the walls with bright colors such as red, blue, and yellow, adding stenciled pictures to the walls.

There`s no point in covering your wall with something that you don`t want to look at. When you`re shopping for prints, posters, or wall decals that you can display on your wall, you should set aside a dozen or so pieces that tickle something inside of you. If you`re looking at something and don`t experience an emotional connection, or if the image causes your lip to curl in disgust you should pass it over without a second look. It doesn`t matter if your friends and family and the general population think the image is the greatest work of art ever. You`re the one who will have to look at it.

In fact, you can buy new items that are made to look like old architectural pieces. My personal favorite is wrought iron pieces that look like old gates or fences. These go with a wide range of decorating themes and look great on your walls.

First, these decorations are fantastically easy to install and economical. In most cases, the decals adhere to the wall easily and once they are on they can be easily adjusted to suit your needs. Since art is very easy to work with and install, most people can quickly transform a wall in five minutes or less! In addition, the decals are also completely removable, which makes them a perfect choice for a rental property, child`s room, or dorm room. As the tastes of the individual change, they can easily be switched out for new decals that better match the current design trends and your taste.

By this, I mean old doors, wrought iron gates, corbels, porch pieces – anything that you might normally find on the outside of the house can add depth and interest to your inside walls. When it comes to architectural elements, the more wear the piece has and the chippier the paint, the better! This aging and wear give character to the piece and adds interest.

Today, you don`t have to put your modern art sculptures on a pedestal to be admired because there are plenty of fine wall art sculptures that you can hang on the walls. Usually, these are metal or a mixture of metal and wood and have a contemporary appeal. Wall sculptures are three-dimensional and stick out a bit from the wall adding depth and interest. Modern, contemporary, eclectic, and zen type decorating themes can benefit from these the most.
